We offer TWO trail ride options:
Our beginner trail rides are walk-only and approximately 45 minutes in length. This ride includes a short instructional period in our riding ring to learn some basics and gain some confidence before heading out on the trail. The trail ride portion includes quiet trails and a gorgeous scenic outlook over the Saugeen River. This ride does NOT include riding through our river and is suitable for younger or nervous children and adults not sure if they are ready for our longer river ride. It’s a great introduction to horseback riding complete with instruction and helps you to decide if you’d like to come back for our river ride in the future. If you or your child are nervous about riding or going through the river and/or this is your first time please select this ride for your first visit with us. The beginner trail ride is $60 per person plus HST. The beginner trail ride is available at 1:00 p.m. Thursdays to Sundays.
Our longer scenic RIVER trail rides are approximately one hour in length, variable according to the pace of the ride, and include our exciting Fairbanks River crossing! This ride is suitable for children and adults that have ridden before or are confident that they are up to a longer ride and riding through the river portion of the ride. There is also the opportunity to trot or occasionally canter on this ride (only if the entire group is capable of doing so). If you or your child have never ridden, or are particularly nervous, prone to anxiety, or you are just not sure how your child will react to being on a horse, please choose our shorter beginner’s trail ride, which also includes a short riding lesson, for your first time visit. The longer scenic trail ride is $70 per person plus HST. The scenic ride is available at 11:00 and 3:00 Thursdays to Sundays.
Please arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled ride time and plan to allow at least 1.5 hours from arrival to return from your ride in order to allow time for signing the required insurance waivers, selecting a helmet, mounting your horse and having your saddle adjusted to fit you properly.
